150/365: May 30

Today we went on a little adventure with Jene' and Jack. We went to Our Lady of the Sierras Monument/Shrine thing.... it was interesting, pretty, and fun! :) Here are some pics!!

Also, this morning... I got to have a fun photo shoot with old time family friend, Laura, and her two dog-children. :)
So tomorrow, I should get to have some fun editing those to get off to her ASAP. But that is all for tonight!
Adios!

Big task for today?...... Split and stack firewood. So that's what we did.
The pile we started with.

We've got a good start!

Man vs Wood

Man wins!! : )

Yes, I chopped wood too! : )

All done! : )
So now we have (maybe) enough wood for the winter... or at least a couple months... And it's put away so the yard looks a little nicer. Good job to Ben for building a very nice wood shed!! :)

146/365: May 26

GREAT DAY TODAY!!!
Got a good walk + little bit of run in this morning... Got home from that and was offered the chance to go to Tucson with mom.
We went to Joann's to get some buttons and thread. Then Sweet Tomatoes for lunch.

Then a stop off at The Running Shop.
Mom wanted to get some Vibrams FiveFinger shoes... and I talked to the guy there about my foot problem. He thinks I might NOT have tendonitis at all... and it may be the plantar fasciitis rearing it's ugly .... foot. LOL.
But, he looked at my shoes and my feet, and got me fitted in some better supportive shoes that should help. I sure hope so!! So Momma got her goofy shoes (which I am mildly jealous about, to be honest ;) and I got Asics.
 Then it was back home.
When I got here, I was excited and surprised to see that I had a package waiting on my door step. In it was Rebekah's tutu that I ordered from a friend who's starting her own little business. I love it! And so does Rebekah!

Also, when I got home... I found Ben hard at work, trying to finish up the wood shed.
So.... a little more paint... some metal roofing.... and a lot of split fire wood, and this baby will be done!

That's all I got for tonight!!

145/365: May 25

Today I got the rest of the pictures for Caleb's senior scrapbook. Super excited about that. And throughout the day, I was able to finish a few more. So now I've gotten done up to year 2004. (This scrapbook has one page per year for 18 years) ... 7 more to go!

And while I'm working on that project, Ben has his own project outside. He's building a lean-to for our wood pile. It's going to be a lot nicer that taking up room in the garage or back porch to keep our wood dry. Now that we have a place to put the wood.... I guess I'd better get chopping the huge pile of cedar we have. :)
And seeing as it was a nice evening out, and the kids ate their dinner well... we decided to treat them to ice cream cones on the back porch.

Photo blog :) Enjoy.

143/365: May 23

When I was 6 weeks old, I got my first piercings....... My ears, that way people could tell me and my twin sister apart. She had stars earrings, I had hearts (or vice versa.... obviously I can't remember) About the time middle school came around all I wanted was second holes. So at the lively age of 12 we got our second holes. When those were done we were told "no more piercings until you are 18". It was all fine and dandy... until the hugely popular cartilage piercing came into fashion........ EVERYONE was getting it done and nothing I could say or do would get my parents to say yes for me to get it. And not only it... but I still wasn't allowed to get anymore holes in my lobes.
Fast forward a few more years. 18 at last! So I decided to get 3 holes in one go... you know, be a little creative... be a little uneven... so I had 4 holes in one ear and 3 in the other. I was stylin.... lol.
Well, for some reason or another, after I turned 20, I let all the holes but the first ones pretty much close up. Every now and again I would shove a earring through the old hole... but usually took it out within a few days. Yesterday, I decided that I wanted 6 holes again... the back set for little balls, the middle group for hoops, and the front for whatever earrings I wanted to wear that day. Problem was?.. a couple of the holes were healed shut. Ha.. like that'd stop me. I called around to local piercing shops to see how much they charged. OMG...WAAAAY too much. (although I will be willing to spend it when Rebekah gets her ears pierced.. because I want hers done right) lol. So I had Jene' do it. And while I'm really grateful she did it, I'm sorry that I had to gross her out by making her feel the "pop" of the flesh when she put the needle through.

Anyways..... that's my story for the day. Now let's see if I can remember to post tonight! :)

Today is my GREAT Grandma's 99th Birthday!!!! :)

We started the day with a good church service. Then had a GREAT lunch at Peter Piper Pizza. It's so much fun playing the games with Rebekah now! (although, you do have to watch out when she's throwing those skee-balls... who knows where they will end up!)

The rest of the day was spent hanging out at home. And we rounded out the evening watching old TV episodes on YouTube (think Laurel & Hardy, I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith, and the like)

139/365: May 19

Let's see how fast I can get this done.....

Today = good day. Youngest brother had his 8th grade graduation. I can't believe I'm no longer a "big" sister. Older, yes... but he's got me beat by at least an inch now.

After work Ben and a different younger brother went and got poles to turn into firewood. We should have enough to last next winter! And if not.... Ben can always get more.

Then we had younger brother (#2 mentioned) Tyler, and Jene' over for dinner. Good times. Good eats. And I don't just say that because I cooked. ;)

Pretty sunset. Again.
Nite!!!!
