Cha-cha-cha-changes......

o today I decided to make a change.... in my hair color. I've been various shades of brown for the past 10 years. And I've always wanted to try blonde... And I have to admit, It's not as "white-blonde" as I would have hoped, but I do like it, so far. But it's going to take some getting used to. And I'm already thinking that the next time I do my hair, I might go a little lighter. We will see as time goes though. :)
Here are a few pictures of my hair-venture.

Climbing Extravanganzas

So.... if nothing else, parenting is a never ending adventure...
I thought girls were supposed to be easy... and it's the boys you have to watch out for when it comes to "dangerous" stuff..... apparently, not so.

It all started with Rebekah going into Tommy's room to check on him while he was in bed. She would stand on the bottom of the crib railing and peek over the side of the bumper.I've also caught her climbing the bookshelf in our living room to get to a drink I set on top... and she will also pull out the drawers in her dresser to make a ladder to get to her "Paci" which she is only allowed to have at bed times.

Well, this week it escalated........ I walked into Tommy's room, checking to see if he fell asleep for his nap. (as a side note, I thought Rebekah was playing in her room) He was not asleep. In fact, he was laughing... because his sister had climbed up and into the crib... and was throwing the pieces of his mobile at him. So I did what any self-respecting and intuitive parent would do.... I ran and grabbed my camera. :)

Needless to say, now I am having to put up a gate in the doorway when I put Thomas down for his naps.
I love my kids!

P.S.... if you notice Rebekah is wearing "big girl" panties.... which is a-whole-nother adventure in parenting....

Rain rain..... we want you to come!!!

I love monsoon season.... well, not really. I love it when it rains during monsoon season. The rest of the time, it's downright yucky. It's our (about a) month long exposure to the horrible humidity and muggyness that is experienced around the country. It's miserable.... but the rain makes it all worth it. 2 other reasons I LOVE the monsoon seasons:
Sunsets:

And Sunrises:

There's nothing more beautiful (in my opinion) than an Arizona sunrise/set. Especially with the monsoons going on.
That's my ramblings for today...

Ouch!

I broke my toe. It's not the first time... and it probably won't be the last... but it doesn't make it hurt any less.

In other news, Tommy is SOOO close to crawling now. He will go backwards, but not forwards.. and it's so very cute to see him get on all 4's and rock back and forth. So, it's looking like pretty soon I will have my hands extra full. Oh joy!!

And Rebekah LOVES Popsicles!!
Well, that's all I've got for now... until next time, Love,

Splish Splash

Some of my all time favorite memories from my childhood revolve around the pool at my grandma Beth's house. It is an nice big L shaped pool, but the best part is that it is indoors!!! We were able to swim when it was hot outside, and we never had to worry about sunburn. We swam when it was raining, hailing, and we even swam in the middle of winter when it was snowing... *gotchya!* It never really snows here, but it does get cold enough in the winter where you wouldn't want to swim in an unheated outdoor pool!!
{Now.... I'm hoping I can find a picture of me playing in the pool when I was younger... It will go here}

Now that I have kids of my own, I want them to have the same fond memories about that big ol' pool at Gramma Beth's house. In the past 2 weeks, I've taken the kids over there three times. Last year, Rebekah would just about scream bloody murder when the door to the pool room got opened... Now she get's all excited when asked if she wants to swim. Her usually response is: "Go a-simmin in GG's poo". Thomas is still quite the novice, pool wise, but when he gets put in that little yellow infant tube, his legs just start a-kickin! He loves it!!
We will see what happens over the course of the summer, but I am hoping to get the kids over to GG's and in the pool at least once a week from here on out! That's a lot of wrinkly toes!! :-)
Love for now,
