Mommy's Little Helper

One of the things that I looked forward to most, about being a mommy, was getting to do fun stuff with the aid of a little helper.

This morning was EXACTLY what I was hoping for. Rebekah and Mommy made peanut butter cookies. It was so much fun. For both of us. Here are the pictures from our morning adventure.

And they are GOOD cookies :)

Bummed...

I probably shouldn't use my blog as a place to rant/vent since it is a family thing.... but since I have a total of (a high guess) 3 regular readers, I don't think it matters.


As some of you (theoretical people who I want to believe actually read this) know... I was all excited about the possibility of branching out and turning my photography into more than just a hobby. Fast forward a month or two... "Businesses" take a lot of time and effort and a lot (more than I have) guts to make it. So the dreams I had of becoming a well known photographer in my area hit head long into reality this weekend. Not only am I not "important" enough to remember, (I had a scheduled appointment that turned into a no show because the person forgot).. I am also not worth the time and effort to get in touch with, therein, I am easily replaceable. So... on the advice of my most dear supporter (thank you for believing in me, Jene') I am just going to let photography remain my hobby. I will take pictures of things that interest me and capture my attention, and I'll still take pictures for people, if they ask... but I'm not going to push it.

Anyways... that's all... I got it off my chest, now I have to get it off my mind.

Painting

Today while Thomas took a nap, Rebekah and I painted. It's something we've never done at home before, and surprisingly enough, it wasn't as messy as I thought it would have been.

These are hand prints done on Crayola's Air-Dry Clay... we decided to make them pretty with paint.

I don't know how often I can say it.... or photograph it, for that matter.... but we made some CUTE kids. :)

Miller Canyon

Saturday we had a picnic lunch up in Miller Canyon. It was pretty up there. The creek was flowing and we saw a few animals (a few Guinea and a couple of Deer) Rebekah had fun wading in the water too.

I'll look forward to going up there again next weekend. But then it will be for a photo shoot!

It's Electrifying!!!

Ok, so Ben spoiled my yet again... (a whole $5) and got me a infrared wireless shutter release for my camera. Now I can take pictures without having to actually touch the camera... (which is a good thing when you want to avoid camera shake)
Last night we went up on the roof and got a few (AWESOME) shots of the lightning.

And as much as I love getting lightning shots, I am looking forward to when the monsoon is over. I've been researching star trails.... and I CAN'T wait to do one (or more) of them!!!
