From the time he was born, Tommy didn't like anything on his feet. While he was iity-bitty, it was easy enough just to keep footie rompers on him all the time. But when summer came, we said goodbye to those outfits. He spent the long summer and fall with naked feet, and that suited him just fine. Well, now it's winter... and it's just too cold out there for his little feet to be bare.
It's been a challenge keeping socks on his feet... so I thought "SHOES!" that would be a quick fix.... it just was not so. At least not regular shoes. Within 5 minutes, the shoes are off. Quickly followed by socks. Every day, every time we went anywhere, we'd loose shoes and socks.
That brings us to today. I got the kids ready socked and shod. By the time we got to the mall, Tommy was, once again, barefooted. I decided, "Eh, it's warm enough in the mall it won't matter." That is until we met up with Meemaw. (My grandma, the kids' great-grandma) While I was making an appointment for studio pictures, she disappeared. As soon as we found each other again she told me, "I just CAN'T stand it anymore. That boy needs to have something on his feet!" She had bought him socks and shoes that lace and go above his ankle... "That way he can't kick them off."
So there you have it. New shoes...
And, of course, Rebekah can't get left out of the shopping adventure. While at the Children's Place, she found a hat that was just too adorable not to get.
